Pemex oil platform fire to cost up to $780 million

Mexican petroleum firm Petroleos Mexicanos has informed its insurers that a recent explosion at its offshore oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico is likely to cost between $670 million and $780 million, reported Reuters.

The fire at Pemex's Abkatun A-Permanente platform, which is a part of Abkatun Pol Chuc complex, claimed four lives and prompted evacuations of more than 300 people.
