Windstorm Niklas to cost German insurers $810.5 million: Association

The German Insurance Association has said that windstorm Niklas that recently hit the country is likely to cost insurers about €750 million ($810.5 million), Reuters reported.

The association said that this would make Niklas one of the five most costly storms to hit Germany in the past 15 years.

Talanx A.G. said it has set the projected damage cost from Niklas in the low double-digit million euro range.

Niklas caused huge damage across several other countries including France, Austria and Belgium, among others.
