Indian aviation firms' insurance cost may rise if pilots' psychiatric test mandated

Insurance costs for Indian aviation firms might increase if the country's Directorate General of Civil Aviation requires psychiatric testing of pilots before takeoff, reported Stockindex.in citing The Economic Times.

If pilots fail to pass the psychiatric test it could result in flight cancellations and claims. Insurers have not yet determined the liabilities of such an event as no model is available to factor in such risks into a policy.
