Record cat bond and ILS issuance in 2015 first quarter

The first quarter of 2015 was a record quarter with $2 billion of risk capital issued in new catastrophe bonds and insurance-linked securities, Artemis.bm has said in a report.

Fifteen new cat bond or ILS transactions were recorded in the Artemis Deal Directory during the quarter. The majority of the issuance activity for 2015 occurred in March, the report said. There was a mixture of larger deals and six 'cat bond lite' during the period.
