Insurer-policyholder lawsuits up in South Korea

Figures published by South Korea's Financial Supervisory Service have shown that the number of lawsuits filed between the country's insurers and policyholders almost doubled in 2014, reported GlobalPost.

About 1,112 lawsuits were recorded in 2014, up from 647 in 2013.

Of the total cases related to nonlife insurers, 92.3% of lawsuits were filed by insurers against their policyholders.

Dongbu Insurance Co. was involved in 163 such cases in 2014.
