Insurers in MENA region expect increase in premium volume

A report by the Qatar Financial Centre Authority has found that insurers in the Middle East and North Africa expect premiums to grow faster than gross domestic product, Asia Insurance Review reported.

"Insurance penetration is on the rise" and "demographics are favorable", said QFC Authority chief executive Shashank Srivastava.

About 81% of executive polled in the 3rd Annual MENA Insurance Barometer said that insurance rates in the commercial segment are likely to remain stable or rise over the coming 12 months.
