More than 37,000 cyber fraud cases recorded in past four years: Official
Posted On: Mar. 6, 2015 12:00 AM CSTRavi Shankar Prasad, India's Minister for Communication & Information Technology, has said that about 37,721 cyber fraud cases involving 4.97 billion Indian rupees ($80 million) have been reported in the past four years, reported The Times of India.
About 9,362 cyber fraud cases were reported between April 2014 and December 2014, with losses of INR 600 million, added Mr. Prasad. Losses worth INR 780 million due to cyber fraud cases were reported for the 2013-14 period, said Mr. Prasad.
