Ironshore International taps Catlin exec to oversee Asia-Pacific region

Ironshore International Ltd. on Monday said it has named former Catlin Singapore Pte. Ltd. executive Hui Yun Boo to the newly created position of managing director of the Asia-Pacific region, effective March 2.

Ms. Boo was also named principal officer in Singapore and will oversee the specialty lines business in the Asia-Pacific region spanning Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Sydney, Hamilton, Bermuda-based Ironshore International said in a statement.

Previously, Ms. Boo was chief financial officer for the Asia-Pacific region for Catlin Singapore, a unit of Hamilton-based insurer and reinsurer Catlin Group Ltd., which agreed in January to merge with rival XL Group P.L.C. for about $4.3 billion.

“Ironshore has experienced progressive expansion throughout the Asia-Pacific region since we established our regional presence four years ago,” Mark Wheeler, CEO of Ironshore International, a division of Ironshore Inc., said in the statement. “We are pleased to welcome Hui Yun to Ironshore.
