Grahame Chilton named CEO of Gallagher International

Former Benfield boss Grahame Chilton will lead Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.'s international brokerage division, the Itasca-based brokerage announced Friday.

Mr. Chilton replaces David Ross as CEO of Arthur J. Gallagher International in London. Mr. Ross recently left to lead London-based brokerage Towergate Group P.L.C.

Mr. Chilton, who is best known for building reinsurance brokerage Benfield Group Ltd. prior to its acquisition by Aon, also leads London-based Capsicum Reinsurance Brokers L.L.P., a 2013 joint venture between Mr. Chilton and Arthur J. Gallagher, according to a statement.

Patrick Gallagher Jr., Arthur J. Gallagher's president and CEO, said in the statement. “We are delighted that he has agreed to lead the team as they continue to drive future growth while remaining firmly committed to delivering quality service to Gallagher customers.”
