Retailers urged to strengthen focus on cyber security

The Bermuda Cyber Threat Intelligence Group has urged retailers to strengthen their efforts in having stronger cyber security, The Royal Gazette reported.

One group member said Bermuda consumers "have a valid expectation that any personal data they share with a local retailer will be securely managed and stored." However, with the techniques available to cybercriminals evolving, newer countermeasures should be adopted. Another expert said proper information sharing by information technology professionals will be important in addressing the challenge, reports The Royal Gazette.
