Japan blames Chinese hackers for bank cyber thefts

Japan police have said that Chinese cyber criminals are increasingly to blame for stealing from Japanese bank accounts, reports Bloomberg Businessweek.

Chinese citizens made up about 62% of the total arrests related to cyber thefts. National Police Agency of Japan has said that about 1.85 billion Japanese yen ($15.3 billion) have been stolen from lenders in the first half of 2014. Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Inc. are among the affected lenders.
