Hub International Ltd. has acquired Sacramento, California-based property/casualty, personal and employee benefits broker John O. Bronson Co.

A spokeswoman for Chicago-based Hub declined to disclose the terms of the deal, announced Tuesday.

Bronson will become part of the California operations of Hub International Insurance Services, known as Hub California, Hub said in the statement. Bronson will retain its name and continue to operate out of its California offices, including Sacramento, Monterey and Rancho Cucamonga, the spokeswoman said in an email.

Bronson President and CEO Paul Bystrowski will join Hub California as senior executive vice president, and Robert McVicar, Bronson’s vice president of sales, will become Hub California’s executive vice president. They will continue to lead Bronson’s sales and operations, reporting to Hub California President Kirk Christ, Hub said in the statement.

“Bronson has a long-standing reputation as a strategic local market adviser with a corporate culture of giving and social responsibility,” Mr. Christ said in the statement. “Both are important qualities that mirror Hub’s values.”

Founded in 1888, Bronsonhas more than 100 employees, according to the statement.

The acquisition marks Hub’s 29th this year, the spokeswoman said.
