Heavy rains and floods hit Italy and Switzerland

Days of heavy rains and flooding have caused considerable damage and left four dead in Italy and Switzerland, The Daily Star reported.

Floods and rains in Italy have caused damage worth hundreds of millions of euros. Landslide in Switzerland's Davesco-Soragno area claimed two lives.

In Italy, rivers overflew and landslides hit highways.

The country's agricultural association Coldiretti said the calamity caused huge damage in Liguria, Piemonte and the central region of Emilia Romagna.
