Willis appoints CEO to its U.K. insurance business

Nicolas Aubert, current chief operating officer of American International Group Inc. has been named the new CEO of Willis UK Insurance.

Willis Group Holdings P.L.C. has appointed Nicolas Aubert to succeed Steve Hearn as CEO of Willis UK Insurance, the company said in a statement Thursday.

Mr. Aubert, who was named CEO designate of Willis UK Insurance, is currently chief operating officer of American International Group Inc. in Europe, Middle East and Africa, and was previously managing director of AIG in the United Kingdom.

He will report to Mr. Hearn, who will continue in his role as group deputy CEO after the succession in 2015.

Willis UK Insurance includes its combined U.K. retail and global specialty businesses.

“Nicolas' wealth of specialty and retail experience in the U.K. and abroad, combined with his strong technical knowledge of the market and the evolving needs of complex clients, make him the ideal candidate to drive forward the continued growth of Willis' business in the U.K.,” Willis Group CEO Dominic Casserley said in the statement.
