Germany: Deutsche Telekom affected by nearly one million cyber attacks each day

Germany's Deutsche Telekom A.G. has recorded almost one million cyber attacks every day on its network in 2014, an increase from 300,000 recorded two years ago, EurActiv reports.

Timotheus Hottges, chief executive of the company, said cyber attacks have been on the rise and warned European states and private firms that they will likely also be in for major attacks. Meanwhile, a German politician what’s needed is "something like a cyber NATO, or at least a cyber EU."
