Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers elects chairman for 2015

Steve Brockmeyer has been elected the 2015 chairman of the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers.

Steve Brockmeyer, president and CEO of Pasadena, California-based Bolton & Co. was elected as 2015 chairman of the Washington-based Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers on Tuesday.

Mr. Brockmeyer's election took place during the council's 101st annual Insurance Leadership Forum in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He succeeds Johnny Pitts, chief manager of Lipscomb & Pitts Insurance, L.L.C. in Memphis, Tennessee.

Mr. Brockmeyer began his career as a direct sales representative with Wausau Insurance Co. before joining Bolton & Co. in 1990, according to the council.

As chairman of the council, Mr. Brockmeyer leads a team of newly elected officers including Vice Chairman Bill Henry, CEO /chairman of McQueary Henry Bowles Troy, L.L.P., of Dallas; Treasurer Robert Cohen, chairman and CEO of IMA Financial Group of Denver; and Secretary David Eslick, chairman and CEO of Marsh & McLennan Agency in New York.
