Latin America prepares for Ebola as Brazil examines suspected case

A suspected Ebola patient is being examined in Brazil and if tested positive, this could be first Ebola case in Latin America during the ongoing outbreak, reports BNamericas.

Countries in the region are strengthening their efforts to prepare for any outbreak.

Argentina has already set up an alert system for identifying suspect cases, while Mexico is looking to screen passengers coming from high-risk areas.

The health ministry of Peru said it has the ability to identify and confirm cases, BNamericas reported.
