Swiss Re acquires 27% stake in Kenyan insurer
Posted On: Oct. 9, 2014 12:00 AM CSTSwiss Reinsurance Co. Ltd. has purchased 26.9% minority stake in Kenyan insurer Apollo Investments Ltd., a Swiss Re spokeswoman said.
The stake was sold by LeapFrog Investments, Reuters reported. The purchase is part of Swiss Re's growth strategy in the sub Saharan Africa, the spokeswoman said. The reinsurer did not disclose the terms of the deal.
