Philippines: Crop damage from storms pegged at $109 million

The Philippines' Department of Agriculture has said that crop damage losses from typhoon Luis and tropical Storm Mario have reached 1.14 billion Philippine pesos ($109 million), reports AsiaOne.

The worst affected were rice farms with losses estimated at PHP 934 million ($21 million).

Corn crops worth PHP 150.6 million ($3.39 million) were damaged, along with high-value crops worth PHP 41.8 million ($940,500).
