Yemen: Airport closed after clashes between army and rebels in Sanaa

Major clashes between rebels and the army in Sanaa, Yemen, have left 71 dead and forced many to flee their homes, Nigerian newspaper The Punch reported.

Rebels have attacked the state-controlled Yemeni TV and the clashes have led to the closure of the Sanaa airport.

The Saba news agency said many foreign airlines "decided to suspend flights to Sanaa for 24 hours" and the airlines would evaluate the security situation before deciding on when to resume flights.
