AIG lead insurer of crashed TransAsia aircraft: Aon
Posted On: Jul. 24, 2014 12:00 AM CSTAon P.L.C. has revealed that American International Group Inc. is the lead insurer of the TransAsia Airways Corp. aircraft that crashed on the Penghu islands off the coast of Taiwan, Bloomberg reported.
Aon said the Italian-French manufactured ATR-72 aircraft is valued at around $13.2 million. TransAsia said it has "sufficient aviation insurance, customer-liability insurance and third-party responsibility insurance" to cover its fleet. The crash killed 47 people, Taiwan's Aviation Safety Council said.
