Alan Main joins Cooper Gay as director of reinsurance

Alan Main, formerly an executive with Towers Watson U.K. Ltd., will join Cooper Gay & Co. Ltd. as director of reinsurance, effective immediately.

He will be based in London and will report to Andrew Hitchings, chief executive of reinsurance, the broker said Thursday in a statement.

Bringing over 40 years' experience to Cooper Gay, Mr. Main will drive all classes of nonmarine treaty production and marketing for U.K. and international clients as part of the company's global treaty business, Cooper Gay said in its statement. Mr. Main had been executive director at Towers Watson U.K.

“Alan's experience will strengthen our ability to seek out and capitalize on new opportunities in the nonmarine treaty sector,” Mr. Hitchings said in the statement.
