Mexico: Insurance against hurricanes unaffordable for Playa del Carmen businesses

However, not all businesses have been able to afford insurance against hurricanes. A regional commerce official said that only 10% of its members, including shops, have insurance against hurricanes. Policies on average cost around 50,000 Mexican pesos ($3,845), making it unaffordable for some, Sipse.com reported.
