Canada: Chia seed products recalled due to possible salmonella contamination

The Public Health Agency of Canada is investigating a salmonella outbreak linked to the consumption of dried sprouted chia seed powder and dried chia seeds, Global News reported.

Several products containing sprouted chia seeds from Advantage Health Matters Inc. have been recalled.

The agency said nine people in three provinces had fallen ill so far.

The brands affected by the recall include Organic Traditions and Back 2 the Garden.
