MH370 disappearance may drag Malaysia Airlines into out-of-court settlements

Aviation law experts have told Agence France-Presse that the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 is expected to lead to legal issues that could compel the airline to have out-of-court settlements.

International aviation laws say an airline is responsible for proving it is not to blame for a mishap and this means the passengers' relatives could sue Malaysia Airlines.

The airline may face civil lawsuits for damages, the size of which would depend on where lawsuits are filed, Agence France-Presser reports.
