South Asia sees improvement in insurance penetration

Arup Chatterjee, senior financial sector specialist at the Asian Development Bank, said that although South Asia suffers from underinsurance, activity in the insurance market appears to be picking up, The News International reported.

Mr. Chatterjee added that "lack of market-driven products, sound regulations and high premiums create a complex environment for insurers."
