Germany: Pilot strike prompts Lufthansa to cancel 3,800 flights
Posted On: Apr. 1, 2014 12:00 AM CSTA strike action by pilots has prompted German airline Deutsche Lufthansa A.G. to cancel 3,800 flights, Reuters reported.
Analysts estimate that a three-day strike could cost Lufthansa €30 million ($41.2 million) to €50 million ($68.7 million) in profit.
The airline said "a large amount of damage has been done just by the announcement of the strike, because passengers have already changed their bookings and cargo customers have switched to other airlines to transport their goods."
