South Africa: Amplats sues union for strike costs

Anglo American Platinum Ltd. is suing South Africa's Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union for nearly 600 million South African rand ($55.2 million) in damages that resulted from Amcu members' strike action, reports Business Times.

An industry executive said Amcu members were blocking roads with burning tires and stones, BDlive reported.

The strikes are ongoing at the country's three largest platinum producers, with businesses losing millions in revenue every day.
