Bangladesh: Factory owners charged in deadly 2012 fire

Police in Bangladesh have pressed charges against the owners of a garment factory, Tazreen Fashion Ltd., and 11 of their employees for a fire in the factory that killed at least 124 people in November last year, Bloomberg reported.

The factory did not have emergency fire exits and some workers died because they could not get out. The garment industry came under scrutiny for its unsafe working conditions following a series of fires and the April crash of the Rana Plaza factory complex.
