Procura Management Inc. is set to launch a workers compensation preferred provider program in Illinois, the Norristown, Pa.-based medical cost management firm said last week.
Procura, a subsidiary of Atlanta-based medical cost management firm Healthcare Solutions Group Inc., received approval from the Illinois Department of Insurance on Aug. 15 to create a workers comp doctor network, according to a statement released Thursday.
“Healthcare Solutions monitors the workers compensation regulatory landscape and applies for certifications where applicable,” said Nicole D'Ettorre, senior vice president of preferred provider organizations network services for Healthcare Solutions, in a statement.
A set of workers comp reforms approved by Illinois legislators in 2011 allowed employers to begin using specialized PPOs for workers comp care. The networks aim to lower workers comp costs by directing injured employees to providers who specialize in such claims.
Procura's network is one of at least seven that have been approved by the Illinois insurance department since the PPP launched, according to a list posted online by the agency.
Healthcare Solutions Inc. has named Joe Boures as president, expanding on his current role as chief operating officer, the parent company of Cypress Care, ScripNet Inc. and Procura Management Inc. said in a statement Tuesday.
