BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Business Insurance Workers Compensation Virtual Conference

There is still time to register for Business Insurance's 4th Annual Workers Compensation Virtual Conference.

This one-day online event takes place on Thursday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern time, and is for executives concerned about controlling their workers compensation costs, as well as providers of products and services for managing these risks. You can register for the conference here.

Controlling workers compensation costs requires continuous effort with medical expenses, Medicare regulations and claims management among factors shaping employers' total cost of risk. Properly managing these complex issues to reduce their financial impact and administrative burden requires careful consideration of program structure, service-provider relations, and resources.

Our video keynote will be delivered by Dr. Richard A. Victor, Executive Director of the Workers Compensation Research Institute in Cambridge, Massachusetts, which is an independent, not-for-profit research organization providing high-quality objective information about public policy issues involving workers compensation systems.

Business Insurance also will organize several expert panels for webinar sessions to provide employers with strategies and advice for controlling costs. These will include:

  • Managing third party administrator relations and optimal oversight of managed care services, such as bill review, case management and provider networks.

  • Mitigating the Medicare secondary payer burden and understanding recent compliance changes.

The keynote and webinars will provide an opportunity for live online chat with the speakers, to ask followup questions and connect with other attendees. In addition to the conference agenda, attendees will be able to tour the virtual exhibit hall and browse a wealth of free online resources like whitepapers and tools and information.
