Beyoncé danced her way out of a multimillion-dollar lawsuit when the singer reached an out-of-court settlement this week with some disgruntled video game companies.

In April 2011, New York-based video game maker Gate Five L.L.C. filed a $100 million breach of contract suit against the entertainer, contending that she backed out of development of a motion-sensing dance video game to be called “Starpower: Beyoncé.”

In the suit, filed in New York Supreme Court, Gate Five said it had already invested some $6.7 million in the game when the singer backed out at the last minute.

Conversely, attorneys for Beyoncé argued that she had a right to void the contract with Gate Five because the company hadn’t obtained sufficient financial commitment for the project by a certain date.

Details of the reported settlement were not released.
