Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. said Monday that Andrew Torrance will become president and CEO for the Novato, Calif.-based insurer this summer.

Mr. Torrance is CEO of Allianz U.K., which, like Fireman's Fund, is a unit of Munich-based Allianz S.E.

In taking over the top job at Fireman's Fund, Mr. Torrance will succeed Lori Dickerson Fouché, who is leaving to pursue career opportunities closer to her family on the U.S. East Coast, the company said. In a separate release, Newark, N.J.-based Prudential Financial Inc. said Ms. Fouché has joined the company as president and chief operating officer of Prudential’s Group Insurance business. In this role, Ms. Fouché will have overall responsibility for Prudential’s life, disability and voluntary product offerings, Prudential said in the statement.

“I'd like to thank Lori for her contributions and welcome Andrew to Fireman's Fund,” Gary Bhojwani, chairman of Fireman's Fund and Allianz S.E. board member, said in a statement.

Prior to being appointed CEO of Allianz U.K. in 2003, Mr. Torrance was the director and head of the Allianz broker division. He also held senior and board positions at consulting firms and insurers during his career.

“I am confident that Andrew will successfully lead Fireman's Fund to become an expert provider of specialized insurance solutions,” Mr. Bhojwani said in the statement. “He has a track record of executing on established priorities and delivering consistent profitability in a challenging business environment during his 14-year career at Allianz.”

Jon Dye, currently general manager of Allianz U.K.'s retail division, will succeed Mr. Torrance as CEO of Allianz U.K., Allianz said in the statement.
