Liberty Mutual introduces tools to aid ADA compliancePosted On: May. 24, 2013 12:00 AM CST
Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. has rolled out tools and resources on Americans with Disabilities Act compliance issues.
Its group benefits business unit has published separate guides for employers, and for brokers and producers, the insurer said in a statement Thursday.
The guides include information on identifying compliance issues, documenting and tracking employee leave across ADA and other disability programs, communicating with employees, and integrating various disability, absence management and return-to-work programs.
“It is both more challenging and more important than ever for employers to understand and fully comply with the ADA,” said Heather Luiz, director of product management in the group benefits operation. “ADA compliance affects every element of an employer's absence management programs and strategies, whether occupational or non-occupational. And noncompliance can be costly.”
