Everest Re eyes alternative reinsurance capital opportunities

Everest Re Group Ltd.'s CEO Joe Taranto hinted that his company will look to tap opportunities in alternative reinsurance capital management, reported online insurance newswire Artemis.bm.

The Bermudian reinsurer, which already has entered the alternative capacity space through its sidecar Mt. Logan Re Ltd., sees capital entering the reinsurance sector, coming from pension funds and sidecars, among others.

Everest Re looks to "participate in that market," Mr. Taranto said.
