Alleghany unit PacificComp names Janet Frank as top executive

Alleghany Corp. announced Monday that James E. Little, president and CEO of its California workers compensation insurer, Pacific Compensation Corp., is being replaced by Janet D. Frank, effective immediately.

Ms. Frank also will be named chair of PacificComp's board of directors, Alleghany announced. She previously was president and COO of Zenith Insurance Co. and has served as CEO of the California State Compensation Insurance Fund.

“Janet brings a wealth of workers compensation experience to PacificComp at an important point in both the company's development and the California workers compensation market,” Weston M. Hicks, Alleghany Corp. president and CEO, said in a statement. “Her deep knowledge of California workers compensation will be instrumental in further developing and implementing PacificComp's business strategy. We are pleased that she will be leading PacificComp's exceptional team.”

PacificComp's executive vice president and chief financial officer, Ronald A. Groden, also will be leaving PacificComp.

“We extend our appreciation to Jim and Ron for their years of service with PacificComp and wish them the best in their future endeavors,” Mr. Hicks said.
