Willis launches data management system for captives, RRGs, health care providers

The global captive practice of Willis Group Holdings P.L.C. on Wednesday launched an underwriting and data management system for insurance captives, risk retention groups and health care providers.

WillisCaptus aims to securely and efficiently manage data and underwriting information combined with online access to thousands of records, London-based Willis said in a statement.

The product focuses to streamline the risk retention process and increase efficiencies in underwriting and insurance program documentation by eliminating paperwork and file storage issues.

“We believe that WillisCaptus significantly changes the RRG underwriting environment,” said Aidan Kelly, Burlington, Vt.-based senior vice president and chief operations officer of Willis' global captive practice, in the statement. “In listening to our clients, they were crying out for assistance in streamlining their risk retention processes.”

Englewood, Colo.-based health care organization Catholic Health Initiatives, which operates in 19 states with 76 hospitals, is among the first to use WillisCaptus for its employed physician insurance program, Willis said in the statement.

“One of our requirements was that our program should be as simple and as easy as possible for our employed physicians to use,” Peter Jones, vice president of global insurance services for Catholic Health Initiatives, said in the statement. He said the organization uses the system in medical malpractice and professional liability insurance lines.
