Zurich names Michael Kerner CEO of general insurance, executive committee member

Zurich names Michael Kerner CEO of general insurance, executive committee member

Zurich Insurance Co. Ltd. announced that Michael Kerner has been named CEO of general insurance and a member of its group executive committee, subject to regulatory approval.

Effective Sept. 1, Mr. Kerner will report to Martin Senn, Zurich CEO, the insurer said Wednesday in a statement. He succeeds Mario Greco, who recently was appointed CEO of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A.

Currently, Mr. Kerner acts as CEO of global corporate in North America. His replacement has not been named.

He will be based in Zurich.
