BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Labor Department holding FMLA webinar to answer employer, employee questions

WASHINGTON—The U.S. Department of Labor’s wage and hour division will host a webinar Wednesday on basic elements of the Family and Medical Leave Act.

The webinar, scheduled at 2 p.m. EDT Wednesday, aims to help workers and employers understand the FMLA and is part of an effort to make the program more accessible, the Labor Department said in a statement.

“Unfortunately, too many workers don’t know about their rights under the FMLA and fail to take advantage of its protections,” Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis said in the statement. “This webinar will make the law easier to understand, including recent guidance for nontraditional families.”

In conjunction with the webinar, the Labor Department has published the booklet “Need Time? The Employee’s Guide to the Family and Medical Leave Act,” to answer questions about the law.
