SANTIAGO, Chile—Willis Group Holdings P.L.C. has named Antonio Tosti as CEO of its Latin American reinsurance business.
In this newly created position, he will be responsible for managing 21 offices in seven countries in the region. He reports to Luis Maurette, who was named CEO, Willis Latin America in October, and Jason Howard, CEO of Faber & Dumas, Willis' global facultative and wholesale broking business.
Mr. Tosti continues his responsibilities as CEO of Willis' facultative business in continental Europe. He will initially be based in Santiago, Chile.
Meanwhile, former Willis Re executive, Henry Mikrut, has joined JLT Reinsurance Brokers Ltd. as executive vp. At Willis, he was responsible for rating advisory services mostly covering the U.S., Caribbean and northern South America-based carriers.
He is based in New York.
Latin American insurance market premium volume expanded by nearly 20% in 2010, according to a report released Monday by Madrid-based Fundación MAPFRE.
