EEOC to publish discrimination charge statistics online

WASHINGTON—The U.S. Equal Employment Commission said Monday it is making its private sector workplace discrimination charge statistics for each of the 50 states and U.S. territories available online for fiscal years 2009-2011.

This data provides information on EEOC charge receipts, broken down by the basis of discrimination, as well as the percent of total state and national charges. The state data tables are available here. Users may obtain the information for each of those years by clicking on the state or territory.

The EEOC also lists statewide data individually for fiscal years 2009-2011, with a chart on which all the states and territories are listed. In fiscal year 2011, the state with the highest number of individual charges filed was Texas, with 9,652, accounting for 10% of the total. The state with the least number was Montana, with 21, which accounted for less than 0.1%.
