Chubb introduces coverage for environmentally friendly California commuters

WARREN, N.J.—Chubb Group of Insurance Cos. has announced a travel accident coverage for California’s environmentally friendly commuters.

The service is aimed toward commuters using carpools, public transit and other alternative fuel private passenger vehicles to head to and from work. Open to all U.S. employees of California-based companies, the coverage is available as an option to Warren, N.J.-based company’s travel accident insurance policy, BTA 360°.

“California has long been an environmentally conscious region, and now employers can provide their employees a benefit that promotes eco-friendly transportation,” said Dominick Zenzola, vp and employee benefit manager of Chubb Accident & Health, in a statement. “Chubb’s unique coverage offers employers a cost-effective way to help protect their employees regardless of whether they are halfway around the world or right down the street.”

The program carries an accidental death and dismemberment benefit of $50,000 on all insured persons.
