Brown & Brown CEO returns from health-related leave

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.—J. Powell Brown, president and CEO of Brown & Brown Inc., has resumed his duties after a temporary leave of absence for health reasons, according to a filing the brokerage made Wednesday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Mr. Brown began his leavefrom the Daytona Beach, Fla.-based brokerage in late January.

During that time, his father—former Brown & Brown CEO J. Hyatt Brown—temporarily assumed the younger Mr. Brown’s duties. J. Powell Brown succeeded his father as CEO in 2009.

According to the SEC filing, the younger Mr. Brown resumed his duties Tuesday.
