Marsh & McLennan becomes minority partner in Juniperus

Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. has become a minority partner in Juniperus Capital Holdings Ltd., Juniperus announced Tuesday.

Juniperus is a Hamilton, Bermuda-based insurance asset manager that focuses on collateralized reinsurance and catastrophe-linked securities. Marsh & McLennan joins Juniperus' existing partners, New York-based Aquiline Capital Partners L.L.C.—whose CEO is former Marsh & McLennan Chairman Jeffrey W. Greenberg--and the Juniperus management team.

“Aquiline and Marsh & McLennan Cos. both have substantial experience in the asset management and insurance industries that will be valuable in helping us provide our investors with the attractive insurance-related products they demand in this environment,” said Steve Velotti, chief investment officer of Juniperus, in a statement.
