The District of Columbia's LEED Program

Under the District of Columbia’s Green Building Act 2006, beginning this year, all privately funded construction projects are required to be certified under Washington, D.C.-based U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program. Publicly owned, funded or financed projects already had to meet this requirement. Here is the District’s LEED certification guidebook.
