BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

LOS ANGELES—Mary Jane Fortin has been named chief financial officer of American International Group Inc.'s SunAmerica Financial Group, SunAmerica announced Thursday.

Ms. Fortin succeeds Michael Akers, who was named SunAmerica's head of variable annuity risk management.

Ms. Fortin previously was president and CEO of SunAmerica's American General Life Cos. business. Before assuming that role, she was chief financial officer of American General Life.

Ms. Fortin was recognized as one of Business Insurance's 2011 Women to Watch.
