Willkie Farr & Gallagher hires team of insurance lawyers from Dewey & LeBoeuf

NEW YORK—Law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher L.L.P. has added a team of 12 lawyers from New York-based Dewey & LeBoeuf L.L.P. in a move to expand its insurance practice.

The team—led by Alexander M. Dye, Michael Groll, Robert S. Rachofsky and John M. Schwolsky, who will be based in Willkie’s New York office—has worked together for many years and has experience representing insurance companies in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and regulatory matters, said New York-based Willkie in its announcement of the hiring.

The group also includes Scott D. Avitabile, Donald B. Henderson Jr., Arthur J. Lynch, Vladimir Nicenko and Allison Tam, who will be based in New York; Joseph D. Ferraro and Nicholas Bugler, who will be based in London; and Christopher S. Petito, who will based in Washington.

“We have worked closely with this team in a number of transactions over the years,” said Thomas M. Cerabino, co-chairman of Willkie, in the announcement. “They are among the most elite practitioners in their field and will add greatly to our capabilities in their areas of expertise.”
