Gallagher receives ethics recognition

Itasca, Ill.-based Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has been recognized by the Ethisphere Institute, a business ethics think tank, as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies for 2012.

"Being named to Ethisphere's 2012 World's Most Ethical Companies list is a great honor," said Gallagher Chairman, President and CEO J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr., in a statement issued Friday. "We attribute much of our company's success to our strong corporate culture. Our people are committed to the highest levels of business ethics, and to being good corporate citizens by helping those in need, supporting our communities and protecting the environment. We're extremely pleased to be sharing this honor with such an outstanding group of companies."

Gallagher was the only brokerage named to the list this year. Other insurance industry companies that were recognized by the institute this year include Hartford Financial Services Group. Swiss Re, Sompo Japan Insurance, the Progressive Group of Insurance Cos., and Tokio Marine Holdings.
