Willis North America names Richard Sheldon to lead environmental practice

NEW YORK—Willis North America has named Richard Sheldon environmental practice leader, effective immediately, the Willis Group Holdings P.L.C. unit said Thursday.

Mr. Sheldon, who has been serving as national placement leader for the environmental practice since January 2011, assumes this positon from Rick Hawkinberry, chairman of the Willis environmental practice.

Mr. Sheldon, who is based in Radnor, Pa., leads a team of environmental specialists and will work closely with Willis North America’s regional retail offices, Willis said in a statement.

Mr. Sheldon, who joined Willis in 2004, has more than 20 years of experience in the environmental insurance industry from both an underwriting and brokerage perspective.
