BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

The new Federal Insurance Office will hold a conference, entitled “Insurance Regulation in the United States: Modernization and Improvement” at the Treasury Department on Friday, Dec. 9. According to Treasury, the conference “will bring together state insurance regulators, federal government officials, consumer organizations, representatives of the insurance industry, and insurance experts to have a meaningful exchange on potential areas for insurance regulatory reform.”

The conference runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be webcast live.

The FIO was created by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, and monitors all aspects of the insurance industry, including identifying issues contributing to systemic risk. It also oversees the federal terrorism insurance backstop program.
